And when Islam came, its constitution (the Holy Qur’an) urged Muslims to cultivate, cultivate the land, and dispose of what the land grows of crops, trees, fruits, and flowers.

Agriculture in the Holy Quran

The Almighty said:

{(10) It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. (11) He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and of all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought}
An-Aml 10/11

{(3) And it is He who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates; He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought (4) And within the land are neighboring plots and gardens of grapevines and crops and palm trees, [growing] several from a root or otherwise, watered with one water; but We make some of them exceed others in [quality of] fruit. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason} Ar-Ra'd 3,4

{(33) And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat (34) And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs} Ya-Sin 33,43

Those who think about the plants, their plowing and cultivation and deepen their research and examination, reach secrets and verses that bear witness to the greatness of the creator of the universe, and Islam is the religion of effort, jihad, reason and reflection.

The Noble Qur’an has singled out many vocabulary of plant science and agriculture, for example, he mentioned a truth on a great scientific importance when the Qur’an decided in Surat Al -Hajar verse 22 the Almighty saying: {And we sent the winds to the pollinations}, and this is what plant scientists discovered for centuries when they said: Wind is a means of pollination in plants [6].

Agriculture in the Prophet’s Sunnah

In the noble prophetic Sunnah, we find that there are many hadiths that urge agriculture and agriculture the earth, including: On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, he said:

The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said

“There is no Muslim implanting a farm or cultivating  a planting, so he eats a bird, a person, or a beast, but he has charity,” Imam Al -Shanqeeti said: Al -Aini said: For himself and whoever comes after him, and in the hadith also that agriculture and planting is one of the best gains, then working with cultivation is a worship in addition to that it is an honorable gain.

On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “If the Doom's day  has come and one of you has a sapling in his hand, then if he cannot get up until he has planted it, let him plant it.” On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said “Whoever has land, let him cultivate it, or let him give it to his brother, and if he refuses, let him keep his land.”

In the field of cultivation, there were many of  Muslim scholars, so that we can find the historian Cabon, says that the Arab civilians in Spain were distinguished by material matters, with what they used from the means to fertilize the land land in Andalusia and repair it

And Sideo, an European thinker and scientist, admits that the Arabs added many vegetable material Greece was completely ignorant and provided the pharmacy with herbs that healers use for treatment

Among the old Arab scholars who had the greatest impact on plant science Avicenna, who described many plants, especially the medicinal in his book, also wrote a pleasant chapter on the life of the plant in the book of healing.

Abu Bakr Muhammad Al -Razi wrote two letters on the aromatic and fruit plants.

Ibn al -Baydar also described about 1,400 plants, and they are Al -Dinuri, Al -Idrisi, Al -Baghdadi, Al -Qazwini, and Al -Jafiqi, other Arab healers.

And they knew about the herbalists because they knew the medicinal properties, so the plant was the healer and the herbalist and the plant because of the proximity of the connection between the two professions as well without many Arab travelers with his views in different parts of the earth and recorded in their notes among many plants.

The Western scientists have admitted, thanks to the Arabs in this field, Reynalde says that the Arabs have taken from plants many substances for medicine and pharmacy and moved from the east a lot of medicinal herbs and plants such as camphor saffron.

The scientist Leclerc mentioned a number of medical materials that the Arabs entered into the drugs and medical vocabulary, which number more than 80, and it was mentioned in the Arabic text and what was set for them from Latin words, including what is brief from the Arabic origin, and it is still with his Arab pronunciation, but he wrote Latin letters.

And they appeared in the Arabs who became famous in plant science for scrutiny and research as Rasheed El-Deen El-Sory , so he was accompanied by a photographer when he searches for weeds in their downsides and with him dyes of different and diversity.

He was heading to the places where the plants were watched and checked, and the photographer will see it, so it is watched its color, amount of paper, branches, and originality, and it is depicted according to it and strived in its simulations.

Moreover, he also arrived in the depiction of the plants as a useful path, He used to see the plant to the photographer in his germination and his fresher, So he depicts it, then it is also followed by a time of dryness, and he depicts it, so the one plant will be seen by the beholder in the book is in the case that can be seen on it on the ground, so his investigation will be completed and his knowledge of it is clearer.

The Arabs in agriculture have a great book that Abu Zakaria Al -Ashbili placed and tried to apply the knowledge of the people of Iraq, Greece, the Romans and the people of Africa in Andalusia. Andalusia during their reign is the paradise of the world.
